Why hello there! Welcome to Safety Third.

Paddy O’Connell is the host and co-writer of Safety Third. When he’s not practicing Footloose inspired dance moves, Patrick Swayze-esque hair flips and grooming his mustache to resemble Tom Selleck’s lip caterpillar, Paddy can be found in the mountains — mostly likely being a bit loud and doing something a lot weird. He is a freelance creator, storyteller and multimedia producer working out of Carbondale, Colorado.

Known for dishing out sharp retorts and withering looks, Elizabeth is producer and co-writer of Safety Third. Even though she lives for the blistering heat, Safety Third’s creative director Fitz Cahall once observed that she seems to have ice water running through her veins. Elizabeth considers it one of the highest compliments she’s ever received.

Chicago-based songwriter and musician Brendan O’Connell is the creator of Safety Third’s theme music. He loves writing smooth jams, touring with his band The Right Now, reading periodicals (especially the New York Review of Books), and ceaselessly teasing his much taller and less handsome brother Paddy.

Co-founder and creative director at Duct Tape Then Beer, founder of The Dirtbag Diaries and creative director for Safety Third, Fitz started his career as a true dirtbag writer / naked subsistence hunter. He has an appreciation for fine (not-that-fine) beers, behavioral economics, his rad wife and two sons, and helping others realize their creativity.

Co-founder and CEO of Duct Tape Then Beer and executive producer of Safety Third and The Dirtbag Diaries, Becca is queen of clarity, master of management, and champion of story. She is an amazing systems thinker and will lay the hurt down on a skin track, the single track or simply planning a project track.

Anya is the director of brand and creative strategy for Duct Tape Then Beer and the art director for all things visual at Safety Third. She’s inspired by all things 80’s, tacky granite, PNW dirt, endless pow turns and hand-drawn diagrams.
